About Hive 7 — Sharkiya, East Egypt
Sharkiya sits east of the Nile, a region known for its citrus orchards. The climate is dry; the flowers are consistent. Our beekeeper here has tended these hives for years, and Hive 7 has become one of our most reliable sources for citrus-forward honey.
The bees have access to orange blossoms, grapefruit, and lemon flowers—the signature terroir of this region. This is reflected in every jar: a honey that tastes of place, not just sweetness.
What This Honey Tastes Like
Light. Floral. A clean citrus note that doesn't overwhelm—it dances lightly on the palate. The color is pale amber, almost translucent. The aroma is fresh, delicate, with a hint of the orchard. When raw honey crystallizes (and it will, over time), the texture becomes smooth and spreadable—a natural texture, nothing forced.
There is no bitterness here. There is no heaviness. This honey is straightforward: the bees found good flowers, and they did their work well.
